Unfortunately not all pool contractors, or pool companies, are reputable. The contractor on this job started the pool build, hit water during the excavation, and didn't know how to correct it. In his attempt to correct the water, he dug around the outside of the pool walls creating large trenches around the pool; resulting in large mounds of dirt everywhere. Eventually, his installed pool walls collapsed, water filled the trenches, and he vanished! This homeowner was left with a mess, a pile of pool parts (most of them damaged), and loss of the contract money.
K&M Pools was called to inspect the unfinished installation and ascertain a solution. Upon entering the yard, we could not believe what we saw. The entire yard was dug up, dirt mounds were everywhere, the installed pool walls were bent and falling into the pool hole; but the worst was the large trench filled with water around the pool walls! At this point, we needed to consult with our excavator to discuss a plan of action. K&M Pools along with our excavator came up with a plan of action and the repair work began.
K&M Pools, along with our excavator and the homeowner's mason, turned this dirt mound filled yard into a beautiful backyard oasis!
This is an example of why a consumer should research the contractor or company they hire to do work for them. The pool contractor should have a valid New Jersey Home Improvement license and current insurance coverage.
